After the opening of the citizenM hotel at Times Square in NYC, Q1-2014, citizenM aims to expand its brand to other areas of NYC and into gateway cities of the USA, such as Los Angeles, Miami and San Francisco. For this purpose we are seeking a Project Director USA, as member of our Netherlands based Design and Construction team, whom will be responsible for the realization of new hotels in the US market.

citizenM acquires projects as owner-operator, in joint venture partnerships with local parties and by means of lease or management contracts. The Project Director will be responsible for all building related topics from technical due diligence to handover of the finished hotel to the operator.

The Project Director is responsible for a series of projects in the roll-out of citizenM in the US, the first of which is a 300 bedroom hotel on the Bowery in NYC with construction scheduled to start in Q2, 2014. The Project Director will be representing citizenM’s Design and Construction team in the US and will be working side to side with our Senior Vice President Development & Investment North America. Over time they will together create a small local citizenM USA team.

Key responsibilities:

  • integral design and construction management, from project appraisal all the way through to successful completion and handover to the hotel operator.
  • sourcing and appointment of the local professional team and creating efficient and successful partnerships with key consultants.
  • obtaining building permits and licenses.
  • contractor procurement.

We are seeking a Project Manager for our London office, who will be responsible for the realization of 3 new hotels in the London area and to work in a team looking to develop additional projects, in Europe.

Job description

The Project Manager will be based in London, forming part of the London team and will be responsible for all building related topics, assisting and feeding into processes from technical due diligence through to project handover and defect rectification.

The Project Manager will work closely with the UK based Development Director, on all UK projects and will be expected to cooperate closely with the Design & Construction Team in the Support Office in the Netherlands.

Key responsibilities:

Undertake a Project Management role in all phases of our development programme in the UK, from inception to completion, including:

  • integral design and construction management, from project appraisal all the way through to successful completion and handover to the hotel operator

  • feed into the development of project strategy and budgetary control, at commencement of schemes
