citizenM has commitments from its shareholders and financers to fund a quick roll out of the citizenM hotel brand across Europe.
Principally, citizenM acts as developer, investor and operator of the hotels. citizenM is therefore primarily interested in acquiring freehold development sites or long term ground leases, with the aim to develop the hotels on its own behalf, using its modular building system of prefabricated room ‘modules'.
citizenM is also interested in partnerships and will consider development and/or investment joint ventures with third parties for individual projects or regional portfolios.
Another option is for property developers to develop the hotels turn key for citizenM, compliant to citizenM's development specifications and utilising citizenM's IFD building system.
Even though the hotels should preferably be built using citizenM´s modular building method, citizenM will consider building the hotels traditionally or refurbishment of existing building, if so required by local circumstances.
regional roll out partnerships
Beyond Europe, citizenM aims to find regional partnerships, with professional partners that can (1) secure suitable development opportunities, (2) set up a production facility for the prefabrication of the room modules, (3) develop and construct the hotels, using he citizenM modular building system and (4) co-invest in the properties. The hotels shall be operated by citizenM.
