The city’s best bits, explored by us.

Au Fils des Saisons

Au Fils des Saisons

If you’re looking for an authentic French bistro tucked away in the trendy Marais, then this little gem should go straight to the top of your list.

As the world grows smaller, it sometimes feels like the romance of exploration is lost.  Short of outer space, where are the uncharted territories? But today’s explorers know that trick to finding today’s secret treasures is to go micro. As a modern day, urban explorer I get a special thrill when I uncover a hidden gem in my own big, busy city.

Take for example, Au Fil des Saisons. This welcoming little restaurant is tucked away in trendy NoMa (North Marais) and – as the name implies – offers a menu dictated by the seasons. Comforting French food is created using market fresh fare and served alongside a selection of affordable natural wines (for which the staff are keen to help with suggestions).

This neighborhood spot has not yet been overexposed on social media, meaning rather than a crowd of overenthusiastic eaters looking to Instagram each bite, you’ll find a more authentic crowd of regular locals and foodies looking for something a little more under-the-radar.

Au Fils des Saisons is the kind of French bistro tourists imagine coming to with its blackboard menus and welcoming owner. Another nice discovery about this address? The 15 Euros lunch menu, which makes it more than worth the detour.
