At the end of my long journey home, I came across this hotel. The atmosphere is like at best friends. You people are wonderful!!!!! Breakfast is delicious and the letter is a surprise that touched me.
I will remember you. Boss, you have the best employees!!!! Thank you guys and see you in better moments ❤️
Hotel staff were terrific, really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine, plenty of it, we also had a late supper of pizza which was fine. The room was nice and clean, although quite compact.
The location in the south of the city was not an issue, as the underground station is literally 5 minutes away, and takes you straight to the city centre.
Also, the trams stop just outside the hotel, so you can get round the city very easily.
It's perfect, modern, friendly, all that you need to stay here and enjoy your stance. Bikes for free if you need to transport around AMS (included) modern and beautiful hotel great experience!! Sure we will back!!
A good tram link to Amsterdam central is only 5mins walk away prices are much more competitive this might not suit if you like being right where its happening. Being senior citizens it suited us perfectly .
I love Citizen M hotels. I have stayed at the one in Paris twice and this one in at Schipol where I am now. When I opened the door of the room, there was such a strong smell of body odour; the kind from unwashed underarms (or with no anti=perspirant).
I opened up scented soap and an orange to try to change the smell but it's still here. Thinking about how the smell is due to bacteria is not making this stay pleasant.
Wonderful location in Zuid which is a 5 minute train ride to the airport and 10 minutes to the center. Small rooms with a plus size and very comfy bed. So kind and helpfull staff. Ideal hotel for couples.
The hotel is conveniently located to RAI and Zuid, it's cheap and clean. For tech and sci-fi lovers its a perfect place. For tall people, tech-avoiders and for claustrophobics, not so much.
Everything is controlled by the iPad in the room however if in the middle of the night you feel like you are freezing and the pad does not comply with your fingers then you are in trouble (or just simply cold).
Unless you want to get up, get your clothes on and call someone to help you, which I'm sure they would have done as everyone is super nice there.
In the mornings you will get woken by a neighbor lifting up the very noisy blinds, so no worries about sleeping in (if the Ipad doesn't work, the alarm also doesn't work).
Shower and the toilet are in glass tubes, so I would say unless you feel very comfortable with your partner it's more suitable for solo guests. Be aware that the shower only turns on when the tube doors are properly closed, so you will have to be in it to switch it on. If the overhead shower is on then first you get a big whaff of cold water (good for you apparently), if the handheld one is on then be aware of the direction it faces as there will be gaps by the sides of the doors and it will flood the floor outside.
However I have never experienced quickest check-in and out in any hotel anywhere in the world (you do it yourself, so it will be as fast and pleasant as you can be :))), so for that I will give an extra point.
Breakfast is totally overpriced in all Amsterdam hotels, so I didn't even bother trying. Smelled good though.
For solo business travelers who are not looking 5* comforts and loads of space, CitizenM is a perfect place.
I honestly cant put a bad word against this hotel. Booked it for a weekend away with my girlfriend.
The staff are super nice and helpful and will go that extra mile for ANY of your needs. Specially Tom from newcastle for helping me find the best place for food and nightlife.
The room was absolutely fantastic.
So modern and the mood pad was the best thing since sliced bread.
Such a shame we stayed for a short period but without a doubt when we return in april we will be coming back to this hotel.
If anyone is reading this review and is put off from the distance to dam square, dont be the metro is a 5min walk away and takes you right there.
Thankyou so much for having us and hope to see the same faces later this year!
