We visited london to attend secret cinema and stayed at citizenM. We wanted a reasonably priced conveniently located hotel with good enough facilities to allow us to get dressed and ready before the show and to sleep comfortably after.
This hotel ticked all the boxes. Check in was easy ...self service but with friendly staff to help out if required. The staff changed our room so we could be on the same floor as friends and was very accomodating. The foyer is very modern and interesting with boutique feel and lovely bar and breakfast area. The rooms are small but well equiped and have ipod mini controls...v good media.bed was really comfy....view not good but mood lighting was fun. Space is well thought out and very clean...think modern university halls of residence ......would recommend.
We booked CitizenM Bankside after finding a deal on Trip Advisor.
The rooms are quite small but there were enough places to store our belongings. The bed was comfortable and huge. The shower was lovely.
As mentioned on the site, all the drinks and the snack bars in the mini-fridge were free. The downside was that there was no kettle so you couldn't make tea in the room, although you can buy some down in the lobby. Similarly, there's no room service, but there is food available downstairs.
Although we didn't take advantage of them, there are workspaces, couches and computers, and an ironing room you could also use.
In the room you can adjust the temperature, use blackout blinds, picks from the free movies on the TV and even choose the colour of the mood lighting.
The location is great, even though public transport is generally worse south of the river. While you're between Southwark and London Bridge tube stations (about 8 minutes walk each), buses leave from right outside. The Borough Market is a short walk away and I'd definitely recommend visiting. Going to this branch rather than Tower of London or Shoreditch encouraged us to check out the sites in South London which we probably wouldn't have done otherwise.
Trendy hotel, Pod type rooms, with nice "hipster" look in common areas. The rooms are small but have everything you need, massive beds, good shower, free minibar, large TV. There is however not much storage for hanging clothes and no room service.
The staff is in general very friendly.
It's very good value for the standard you get.
The location is great with each access to both the city and west end.
2 day business workshop conducted at one of the meeting rooms on the top floor of this property. It's a wonderful hotel with amazing views of Thames/ Tower Bridge/ Tower Hill etc.
The furnishing, decor and design is ultra modern.
It's a pleasure to walk around the hotel. The business centre is fitted with all facilities and their catering service is very efficient as well.
Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would love to go back.
I usually stay at Hiltons in London but stayed at the CitizenM in early March for a business meeting. Everything about it was impressive, satisfying, and comforting, from the incredibly friendly staff at check-in, to the bar staff, and everywhere else.
The room was a bit on the small side but so full of quality and comfort that I never missed the extra space. They also have an arrangement with a decent gym across the street where a day-pass is only 10£. Finally, the location - so close to the Tate Modern and Millenium Bridge - was wonderful, and the neighborhood is young and happening, and well situated for great walks and experiences. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!
The location of this hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do because we wanted easy access to the Jubilee Line plus some of the good to visit places on the South Bank. It is 5 mins walk from Tate Modern and Borough Market.
Lovely staff and very nice public areas for either relaxing or working in.
Good wifi. Very nice unhurried breakfast.
Rooms are not for the technophobes as use a tablet to control everything. They also aren't for people who are sharing with someone who is in the least bit shy as the bathroom "pod" is semitransparent so you know if someone if naked in the shower or sat on the loo plus the sink is in the main part of the bedroom.
Storage space is a bit restricted too we had packed light for 3 nights and only just had room to hang and put everything away.
Rooms were very quiet though with lovely comfy beds and very effective black out blinds so we slept very well.
There is a fridge with some (odd) soft drinks in it and these are free but no tea and coffee making facilities which in the end would mean we won't use it again to stay in although I might go and drink coffee and work in the lobby.
Great place for a nice little London trip! Great staff, cool and very friendly! Great coffee! Great breakfast in the lounge, nice bar in the evening, the rooms are quite small, so best come with a trolley only
Everything was clean and very modern. The coffee shop/restaurant served simple snacks and coffee which was convenient but I felt like I couldn't really get a real meal. The hotel felt very new which was a plus in London but the rooms were like a closet.
The location was not the best because it took a while to walk from a subway stop. I would probably not stay here again but it was a nice experience to check out a different area in town.
