Loved the tech room, the bed was cozy and loved the selections of movies after a busy day. The drinks are amazing and so is the coffee. Loved Shoreditch, amazing restaurants and close to several stationst
I have to say that Citizen M is one of the most unique, professional, cool, hip and caring hotels that I have ever experienced.
For an upscale hotel, this one goes so far beyond both my expectations and my experience that I am struggling to find the correct words to express my approval and admiration.
Let’s start with the physical facilities; the hotel has smallish rooms, but that’s intentional. You don’t generally spend much time in a hotel room, so why waste too much space on it? Don’t get me wrong, these rooms are luxurious and yet efficient at the same time. You control everything from an IPAD, but only if you want. You can go old school as well and use the wall switches and the like. However, I find that the IPAD is more elegant and efficient. For example, with the IPAD you can not only turn on and off the lights as you like, but you can create mood based color combinations of light from “party” to “sleepy” to “romantic.” Furthermore, they provide perhaps the most fluffy comfortable towels I have ever used in an hotel.
The main lobby isn’t a lobby, it’s a bar, a canteen, a restaurant, a collaborative work space, and a living room that is decorated with pop culture accouterments. I have yet to spend more than 20 minutes downstairs in this area without making friends. If you don’t believe me, ask my three new facebook brothers and sisters, who I met at the bar. Don’t ask what time we got home from pub hopping… and I was going to go to bed by 10 PM that night.
Then there are the personnel. Perhaps I should say, my new friends who make sure that I have everything I could possibly need and each of whom I have gotten to know. Now, I got ill while staying here, in this foreign city, and they made sure that I was correctly navigated this strange, to me, healthcare system within minutes, including coming up to my room and helping me work with the urgent care medical staff over the phone. Not only that, but while I didn’t say anything to anyone other than the one staff member who helped me, all of them knew I was sick when I returned from the emergency room and checked to make sure I was ok. Ive gotten to know several of them fairly well and I count them among my crew of fond acquaintances. They have made it very clear to me that while they are as professional a hotel staff as any I have met, they have an honest caring and affection for their clients.
To sum it, If you are in the UK (where there are 3) or the EU or New York (more coming to America) THIS is THE hotel to be at if you want a wonderful, affordable, luxurious and hip experience and want to make new friends and business connections.
On a scale of 1 to 10, Citizen M gets a 25.
Had a fantastic time here. Good all round and easy to get to Central London. Staff were really helpful and breakfast was varied with many choices and of a high standard. Bar menu was also good and service was fast.
CitizenM provide a college dorm room type experience but with style and luxury. The rooms are dorm like, but immaculate and very stylish. The in room tech gives you all you could need at the touch of a button.
The reception / lounge area again mimics the college dorm experience but is modern and stylish. The breakfast had a great selection of artisan foods that don't break the bank. I'd happily stay here again.
Nice Boutique Design Hotel, quiet and stylish located in the Shoreditch area. Bed quality is really good, the room equipment functional and great for a 2-3 day stay. Really quiet in the night considering you are in the centre of London.
I´d recommend for younger people and weekend trips.
We were a little skeptical when our cab pulled up to the hotel and we saw a lot of wall art and no ground floor lobby. When we went up to the second floor reception, we were again not sure we were in the right place.
It was a very modern, open room with lots of computers, work stations, comfortable-looking chairs, a bar and an open dining room. We were pleasantly greeted and checked in efficiently. We went up to our room, not sure what to expect but it was a small pre-fab all-in-one room with a big picture window, a giant TV, and a kind of drop-in bathroom. But it was all very clean and made a very efficient use of space. The bed turned out to be very comfortable, the pillows were soft and comfy and the space worked well. We ate dinner in the dining room and it was very good and the next morning, the breakfast were terrific. It was a great value for the price and I would gladly stay there again.
Vety good clean and high quality hotel with good breakfast. Nice small room with everything you need for a one night stay. Good location with restaurants near as well as Overground. Quit room and nice atmosphere at breakfast room.
We stayed here for 1 night only during a recent visit to London. The hotel is luxury and very modern and futuristic. We loved the technology in the room and how easy it was to use with a push of a button on the item.
The extra large bed was so comfy as were the pillows and myself and my husband had a great nights sleep. My only criticism was the size of the room but it didn’t stop us for enjoying our stay. Loved the black out blind and the fact we could lay in bed in the morning and watch tv without the sun beaming through the window. Check In was a bit of a nightmare but only because it didn’t recognise my name or booking number however the staff soon located it and checked us in, check out was very quick and easy. Good value for money and perfect location. Would definitely stay here again.
