Great style of room for a city break/ overnight London stay where, let's face it, you don't spend a lot of time in the room anyway. Rooms are compact (!) with bathroom taking the form of a cubicle/ wetroom in the bedroom rather than a separate room .
However, where citizenM haven't compromised is the bed - nice big and comfy and also lots of free entertainment .
I would want a little bit more work space if I was staying on business but its a perfect style of room for a city break and we have booked another citizen M hotel for NYC.
Location is shoreditch is great
I have stayed before and would do again. Really nice hotel. Spacious room with large bed. Nice facilities but would have liked tea/coffee in the room. Very clean, and I liked the sofas and work areas.
Breakfast was excellent but expensive compared to most hotels.
Well positioned, close to metro stations and close to shops and pubs. It has self check-in and check-out system which is time saver and no hassle. The room was clean , water pressure fantastic, and the tech in the room a great touch.
We enjoyed staying here and we will definitely come back to this hotel when will come back to London.
We had a great stay. Location fantastic for Shoreditch and bricklane. Easy to get to from Stansted express train at Liverpool Street. Had a room change due to no electric sockets accessible in first room but was dealt with quickly by staff.
The public areas are extremely comfortable with lots of colourful chairs to relax. The staff are really lovely and very helpful. The bedrooms are very cleverly designed - the rain-shower is fantastic, the lighting is good, and the bed is the best and most comfortable that I have ever slept in.
The Shoreditch area of London has become very fashionable with many first class restaurants, bars, shops and museums.
The hotel is just 12 minutes from London Bridge by bus, and it is not expensive !
I stayed here for one night after moving out my flat. I'd been recommended this hotel by a few friends and it seemed reasonably priced for the dates I chose!
As this was my first time staying here, I approached the "ambassador" in the check-in area who simply told me to use the machines to check-in (no warm welcome or guide to where things were in the hotel).
As I was using the machine myself following the steps she interrupted and started rushing through the options for me (I was the only one in the check-in area, wasn't stuck or anything and there's around 10 machines so not really any need to rush). In comparison on check-out the ambassador on duty was very helpful and friendly, took my luggage to leave behind for the day, so I imagine this is hit and miss depending who's on the desk at the day.
The room itself was great, lovely big window - I was given an accessible room at the end of the hotel (these are slightly bigger I believe as they have a large bathroom) at random by the check-in machine. I liked the iPad in the room, being able to control the lights, blinds TV etc and especially liked the fact you could stream Netflix etc from your device to the TV. There are manual switches on the wall to control lights/blinds and a TV remote hidden under the bed as well if you prefer to use those! The only thing that did concern me is if the iPad broke you'd be left with no control over the aircon (but thankfully that didn't happen!).
The bed was comfortable and huge (I'm 6ft 2 and my feet were well away from the wall lying down!) the bathroom was also good with plenty of amenities.
Would definitely stay here again!
Very funky hotel. Easy to get to Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Liverpool Street station. Rooms are lovely. The iPad control is a bit of fun. Shower great but only shampoo/body wash combined so if you’re like me and need conditioner, bring your own.
Weird as tv doesn’t have all normal channels - goes up to ch4 then other Danish etc ones. But free movies are great ... some really recent ones. We watched Darkest Hour. Early checkin didn’t happen as no rooms available. Great lounge to hang out in though. Ottolenghi is close by so recommend you eat there!
After a bad VRBO experience, we wound up at the Shoreditch CitizenM. We were pleasantly surprised by the modern, funky vibe of the lounge area and were very pleased with our room. Although it wasn't huge, it was very smartly set up with clean lines and a focus on efficient use of space.
The in-room iPad, used to control everything from room temperature to shower mood lighting to TV channels was quite cool. The location, a short walk to the Overground, restaurants, Brick Lane and amazing street art added to the appeal. Very friendly staff to boot. So glad we wound up here!!!
