Where do I start?? It was by far the best accommodation experience I have ever had. I could go on all day but I’ll try unsuccessfully to keep it short...!
The location is absolutely perfect for anybody trying to take in the mesmerizing Times Square experience.
It’s right there in the middle of it! Don’t be concerned with noise though, the building keeps it all out so you’ll sleep with no problem.
The building blows you away as soon as you walk through the door, the modern artwork in the lobby looked cool in the pictures, but when you actually see it you get a great appreciation for just how much they have nailed it. My partner and I had 9 days there and were still finding quirky and funky little pieces of art hiding in plain sight! You’ll be greeted by a friendly and informative staff member upon your arrival too, but more on the staff shortly.
The rooms? They have everything they promise, which is far cooler than expected when you actually experience it. They’ve stripped it down by leaving out all of the boring and unnecessary generic hotel crap, and they’ve put all of the emphasis on getting the simple things right, and adding some very cool things which make the room far more comfortable than the usual room. The large shower head, the bathroom products which are as good as any brand you would buy for yourself at home, and the large range of entertainment make the experience good.
But the Mood Pad which you operate from the laptop which is a genius idea and so convenient, the super sized bed, and that BRILLIANT idea to have a window as the back wall made the experience incredible. Our view of Times Square FROM OUR BED was something that made our stay so memorable.
The rooftop bar and lobby bar are both wonderful places to sit and enjoy a very extensive range of nice beverages and the food selection is great. You will never go hungry or thirsty! The selection of music is the perfect mix of funky and relaxing, it sets the perfect mood to kick back and enjoy a chilled out drink. A lot of thought has gone into this place and it really shows! The view from the rooftop bar is beautiful too!!
All of the above mentioned things made this place a 5 out 5 stay, so why 6 out of 5??
The Staff!! It’s like they’ve made an effort to only employ amazing people. Every single one of them offers service with a smile, a warm personality and genuine interest in conversation with you. Sometimes in life you meet people and you walk away thinking “that person was really nice”, well prepare to walk away thinking that about every one of the staff members here. Even the cleaners offer a smile and a greeting!
They go far above and beyond their duties to help in any way they can, from leaving the desk or bar to get the elevator buttons and door for you if you have your hands full, to carrying your bags, to spending as long as you like to give you directions or restaurant and bar suggestions suited to what you’re looking for.
They have such a diverse range of staff members that it’s impossible not to find someone that you really relate to. The managers and their managers and the guys at the very top of the chain should be VERY proud of the staff that they have here. It was the staff who not only made our stay incredible, it made our whole experience of New York City even more unforgettable! I ordered flowers and wine for my partners birthday, and you could see the excitement on the face of the 2 who delivered them as they genuinely take enjoyment from seeing other people happy. I didn’t catch the names but thank you guys!
I don’t like to single people out as they were all so amazing, but there are 2 people who I must personally thank, and who I would be happy to consider friends.
Alina, your smiling service, your generosity and your warm and kind personality were appreciated more than you know. You are amazing at your job which is great, but the beautiful person that you are makes you an absolute pleasure to be around. You are more than a credit to your hotel, but even more so a credit to yourself. Thank you for all that you did for us and all that you are! (PS you make a lovely Mocha :-D)
Corey, an honest and open person from the very start, and after sharing some conversations with you it became clear very quickly that you’re what we would in Australia call a “bloody top bloke” (a really great guy)! You’re also very professional and to say that you were helpful to us is a gross understatement. We appreciate you very much and wish you all the very best in life, you deserve it mate.
I know this is a large review, but I really could’ve said a lot more too, the positives are endless. Thank you guys for making our stay the best experience ever!! You’re all champions!
We will be back and hopefully it’s sooner rather than later!!
Stayed here for 5 nights was fantastic from start to finish. Staff are all young and knowledgeable a real credit to this hotel.
As said before rooms are small but have everything you need huge super comfy beds.
Appreciated the free coffee.
Location perfect will definitely return next year.
Great hotel and great location - perfect for Times Square / Broadway etc. Rooms are compact but have everything you need for a short stay in the city. Staff very friendly and helpful. We loved the decor and ambience in the main lounge / cafe bar area.
Would definitely go back to CitizenM if visiting NYC again. A really cool place.
Super easy & fast check in. While compact, the room had a large comfy bed, large under bed drawer big enough for 2 suitcases. 2 closets for hanging items. Nice bathroom. Liked the iPad for light, blinds & tv controls.
Rooms are small but well arranged. Everything in the room is controlled from an iPad which mostly works. I have stayed here several times and streaming from my computer has only worked sporadicly. Nice breakfast in the lobby.
Rooftop bar is cool and makes decent cocktails.
Great hotel, perfect location, room cleanliness excellent, the room has all mod cons except tea/coffee making facilities which would have been nice helpfriendly staff. Tea/coffee wounice in room but this is not a must.
Very good hotel excellent location. Staff very efficient and friendly couldn't do enough and sorted out any minor issues (not with hotel I might add).. Would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends
I liked a lot about CitizenM. You cannot fault the location because it's close to lots of places to visits, including most of the major Broadway theatres. Free Wi-Fi is good and fast and doesn't need a password to connect.
Nice, friendly staff. Check-in and check-out is largely done by the guest but the arrangement works well and is fast. The problem we had was the size and layout of the room. It is pretty small and the bed (king size) is tucked away at the end of the room, meaning that you have to climb over your partner to get in. Also, the bathroom (while funky), is not well sound-insulated, meaning that someone lying in bed hears literally every noise from the bathroom. Space for storage is limited and some cases won't fit under the bed. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel because we used the many diners and delis around.
