“Perfect Stay”

For a week trip we have chosen the CitizenM again after a stay in London and we did not regret it: cosy room & bed, delicious breakfast, amazing view from the rooftop bar and the gym & as well a really friendly & helpful young Team in an stylisch Vitra based surrounding!

“Great experience”

The citizen m is a really great hotel experience. All was so easy , the check in was seconds to complete. Warm friendly staff on hand if required.keys issued a nice clean elevator whizzed up to our nice clean comfortable room with plenty of space and lovely big bed.

Shower just amazing too. We went to the 21st floor to the bar which was amazing both inside and also the outside with truly amazing views from all sides. The location was fantastic too.We really would highly recommend the citizen m times square to any body visiting New York. Room 1407 18th to 23rd May.

“Great option for solo travel!”

As others have noted, the rooms are tiny (even by NYC standards), which is fine because (1) it makes them more affordable relative to others in the neighborhood, and (2) you won't spend much time in your hotel room, aside from sleeping (and the king-sized bed isn't tiny!)

Though tiny, the room does have everything you need: Bedside tablet to easily control temperature and lighting, and enable streaming from your device to the tv (which also has cable); Good amount of storage space for unpacking (giant under-bed drawer, two small closets with hangers and shelves, plus laptop-sized safe); walled-off toilet and shower, with bathroom counter/sink in main room (though you can separate the two areas via sheer curtain).

This was great for my three-night stay for a business conference. I'm not sure I would recommend for people traveling with a partner, unless you're ok with very tight quarters.

“Modern Hotel in the Center of New York City”

Back from long weekend in New York to see some Broadway shows. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay at citizenM - first off if you don't like small rooms this place is not for you. We loved our room, it was perfect for sleeping, watching TV, & showering, otherwise we were out exploring NY.

The room was quiet and the bed is big and comfortable, it's just like in the photos against a big window. We didn't mind. The storage spaces were great for putting stuff away to keep the room open. The staff were really nice and helpful to us. They have a big living room lobby and we had coffee in the AM, did not do the breakfast but it looked good. We LOVE the location, close to the subway and you can walk to most Broadway shows and we did 3 while in town all just 3-4 blocks away. Perfect. You can walk to many places from this location or hop the subway to many others. We look forward to staying again next time or maybe the new location in the Bowery.

“Hi Tech Hotel in Great Location for Broadway”

The Hi tech functions in the room took some getting used to, i.e ipad for operating lights , blinds, aircon, etc but once over that it was comfortable, spotless room, cleaned and refreshed daily. The shower / toilet cubicle could be a little more private as it was in an opaque glass screen.

The shower however was superb. The room was small but adequate. Security was good with room cards required to access both lifts and rooms.
All the staff were excellent, helpful and very professional. A great breakfast choice, no waiting despite being very busy when we were there. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel area is open plan , could be noisy with techno music, but it is big enough to find a quite place. We would go back if returning to New York

“Wow - what a great hotel. We got engaged here last week!”

Myself and my boyfriend spent 5 nights here and loved every minute.
Although the rooms are small, they are so comfortable, clean and modern.
We loved the iPad that controlled everything in the room (mood lighting, tv, blinds) and especially loved the huge window which was pretty much floor to ceiling.

Everything went so smoothly from our self check in to leaving.
We actually got engaged on the second night on the roof top terrace and it was absolutely amazing. The staff were so lovely and gave us a bottle of champagne. I cannot fault the staff. They were all so friendly and kind and think that made our stay even better.
We want to thank the two bar tenders (we cannot remember his and her names) on the Sunday 6th may when we got engaged! They were great and we will never forget the service that night.
We will definitely be back here!

“Modern funky base for NYC”

Partner and I are just back from a 5 night stay at this hotel, and we would happily return anytime. Having stayed in the citizenM in Glasgow i knew what to expect. This hotel is small yes, but they dont hide that, rather they openly advertise what they're all about.

Please look at a few photos and read the description on travel sites etc, as i realise it won't be for everyone but i think it will be for most.

Check in was swift and easy. We prepaid our room in advance via their website which helped. Staff are very friendly and engaging, and communal areas are vibrant and welcoming.

Rooms are centred around an ipad which controls blinds AC, lights, TV and has a wide selection of movies that are free (max 2 per day) this system is modern and really easy to use. We did however fall victim to the technology aspect of the room when suddenly at 10.30pm one evening the lights went up, the AC switched itself on, and TV wouldn't turn off. Tablet was working but room didn't seem to be picking up what was going on. I went down to reception and was met by a girl who frankly didn't have a clue what was wrong. It took 50 mins to fix, and involved a nightshift manager essentially shutting down the power in our room for 10 minutes. It was at the time an inconvenience, however the overwhelming positives about this hotel far outweigh that small negative.

Hotel is right beside times square, 2 subway stations and slap bang in the middle of midtown. If like us, it will be your first visit to NYC and you only have a limited time to see the city, its a fantastic central base with excellent transport links.

All communal areas including a small, but practical gym are absolutely spotless, thats includes our room that was cleaned daily. We did not have breakfast there, but it looked good. Its not a cheap hotel, but for a clean, comfortable (huugggee bed) and friendly service in a central location, its a must. NYC is a manic city and you simply cannot put a price on coming in after 10 to 15 miles of walking and having a clean, fresh, comfortable space to relax in.

In summary I would advise that you research this hotel and look at pictures online etc, although I'm confident most people will love it. I would not hesitate to book again and biggest complaint would be that they need to open more citizenM's throughout the world.

“Perfectly fine”

All we can do is to echo the other comments here on TA.

We stayed over Christmas 2017 and chose CitizenM as our base for the trip. Room was exactly as we expected, big enough for the 2 of us to change, sleep, wash and even relax with a film.

There is more than enough space, as long as your sensible. We'd only packed for 6 days, maybe longer stays would not be as comfortable and bigger cases may be harder to hide.

Bed was comfortable and the TV / technology / etc all worked out great for us, nice touch to get the latest films on demand. The air control also worked well enough, we'd usually open a window for some fresh air but this wasn't possible, however we found we didn't struggle without the ability to do this.

Our minor gripes were that you can still hear some outside noise (earplugs recommended if you need total silence) and we did get quite a bit of door slamming on our level. There appear to be only a few rooms on each level but it felt like every two minutes someone was letting a door slam behind them, we believe a good chunk of this would have been staff accessing what is probably a cleaning cupboard or suchlike. Again, on a longer stay this could become an issue but for us more a slight irritation.

The shared space downstairs was brilliant, easy to pop back in off the street and have a quick coffee and rewarm before heading back out...all very relaxed and a big thumbs up on that front.

We had breakfast once, it wasn't exactly clear how the process works initially but we managed to get the answers we needed from the staff. Food was perfectly fine and we ate what we selected so no issues there. The only other point to raise would be it's not blessed with lots of dining tables so trying to breakfast at the wrong time might leave you struggling to sit comfortably.

Staff are excellent, service is great oh and the sky bar is also top notch.

We'd happily stay again, just manage your own expectations and you can't go wrong.
