We had a one day stop over in Paris and wanted a hotel within walking distance from the RER train station as we would be touring Paris the whole day and returning late at night by train. We had an early morning flight and needed the hotel to be within walking distance to the terminal since we had to get to the airport before the metro or airport shuttle services commenced at 5 am.
CitizenM ticked both the boxes. The hotel is a two minute walk from the exit on the left of Terminal 3 (towards the Roissy bus terminal).
The hotel has a self check-in kiosk which makes checking in a breeze. A service manager is available to assist in case you face any problems. The rooms though a bit small were extremely comfortable and sound proof which ensures you have a good nights sleep despite the proximity to the airport. Lighting, air conditioning, television and alarm controls are through a smart iPad app. We had an early morning flight and hence did not have a chance to try the breakfast or any other meals. On the whole it was a very comfortable stay for an affordable price and I would recommend CitizenM to any travellers looking for a conveniently located hotel near CDG.
I really really recommend this hotel to anyone that need to transit in Paris-CDG
Very fast check-in, hi-tech room, excellent service!
Especially when we had difficulties to find taxi to another Paris airport, the receptionist was really helpful to talk to the uber driver since few parisian talk english
I had a one extra day before taking transit flight... so I decided to stay there for taking a rest after 11 hrs flight. Very friendly staffs with professional manners for all staff!! Room was very tidy and clean than I expected and the I Pad system was really comfortable in the room.
Also the bed was big enough and comfortable to stay!! But only one thing... for me that I had a question. Dinner buffet was a bit over priced (around $ 30) than the room rate. I will definitely for my next transit flight day on next journey.
I had to book a last minute hotel at the CDG airport and found this hotel. I had never heard of this chain but it was very conveniently located and the price was reasonable. This is a fantastic hotel! The check in takes 2 minutes (all by computer at the front door) and the rooms were clean and bright.
There is an ipad that controls the lights, tv, etc. It wasn't charged so I called for assistance. She said she would look into it. She found me at the bar eating the buffet dinner (excellent food) and said she replaced the ipad. Not sure how she knew where or who I was but the service is fantastic. Very comfortable bed, great shower and an all around very pleasurable experience. The rooms are small and compact, the bathroom is a small room with a toilet and shower, but the experience is huge. Very sexy, very modern. Would stay there again!
Citizen M provided a great place to stay with easy access to the airport. This avoided the early morning scramble to make a flight. The use of technology to check in and to control the room was really neat.
Gigantic shower head. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. Only criticism is the high price of their buffet. We walked to the nearby Novotel and enjoyed dinner in their restaurant.
This was my third stay in a CitizenM, and it made me a fan! I stayed in the two in Amsterdam, once for curiosity, once for convenience. This is the first one that made me a big fan.
The concept is the same, but I suspect this one is newer, as it was a bit more refined than the others.
Same small rooms, but a few differences I noted, included:
- The shower and toilet were in one enclosed area instead of the separate pods; I felt this was a huge improvement. Still, if you're like me and can't do "your business" around your SO, this is a solo room.
- Food: in the others I only remembered prepackaged food for dinner, so I ate in town. When I came back, and I saw what folks were eating, I had serious buyers remorse. I made up for it at breakfast!
- Room selection: I suspect this is s change made at all, but I really liked the added feature of selecting a part of the building I wanted.
The staff here was all top notch! They really knew their stuff and they seemed to enjoy their jobs. They were great with directions too.
Paris downtown is an easy 25-30 minutes away, cost of €10.30 each way. It's only 5-8 minute walk to CDG, with bags. I can't say enough good things about this place but I'll sum it up with this: it changed me from a user of CitizenM hotels into a fan of CitizenM.
Returning to the U.S. from southern France, we had an early morning flight out of Charles de Gaulle so I wanted something close to the airport. This was our first experience with Citizen M. The hotel is futuristic and stylish, with the right amount of frills.
Check-in was quick and automated with helpful staff to assist you. The lobby is bright and cheery with a great bar and small buffet area in back. The room was small but functional and felt like a pod in Star ship Enterprise. It was fine for one night.
Entering our room we were greeted with a somewhat Orwellian message "Welcome Citizen Michael" on the flat panel TV. Everything in the room is controlled by an Ipad mini which was very cool, even though we're not techies. The room was comfortable and very clean. The shower was fantastic and the free in-room movies a bonus. The dinner buffet did not appeal to us (was it made in a Replicator?) so we walked to another hotel. Food at all nearby hotels is expensive so you don't have much choice. I would stay at citizenM again, but not for an extended stay.
CitizenM at Paris Charles de Gaule Airport is perfect for the self-sufficient traveller. The hotel is a short walk (10 minute) from the airport terminal. Outside the hotel is a small pavillion where guests were taking drinks.
As you come in to the entrance you are greeted by a funky decor and high energy. There are 4/5 terminals for checkin with two attendants ready to help. The bar/buffet and a bank of computers are immediately in front with the elevators tucked in by the bar. Upon checking in you are given a free drink voucher. My husband, little girl and I also purchased the buffet option and pre-purchased the breakfast buffet as well. Rooms are designed for two only but children under the age of 12 are allowed to stay in the same room. The room itself is very cozy and is reminiscent of a cruise ship. Lights, temperature, tv are all controlled by an ipad. The bed is extremely comfortable and the ipad a fun way to really control everything including wake up times and "room mood". Since there were three of us, we ordered extra pillows which were delivered to the room about an hour in to our stay. I am very picky when it comes to food, but the dinner and breakfast buffet were truly delicious with 3 salad choices and two different savory mains. Breakfast had great choices as well, fresh coffee and tea. Drinks were well prepared and a very refreshing lemon ginger water was a nice accent. The ambiance of the hotel while young and energetic is still warm and inviting. The bed was very comfortable and the shower amenities yummy. Definitely will stay here again. My one complaint was after a long flight the walk seemed interminable especially in the August heat.
