you'll always want that one extra day in Copenhagen
City of Spires by day, fluffy pillows by night
memories for life, pics for Instagram
Since 2018, global travellers have flocked through our doors to get their fill of the Scandi scene. For the good-time-havers, the citizenM team has scoured the City of Spires to uncover its greatest attractions. Hit the cobbled streets, marvel at Danish design, pick up some herring on the Nyhavn waterfront and get your fill of New Nordic cuisine. Don’t leave without snapping the cityscape from the 7th-floor living room balcony – stunning at any time of day and night.
For best amusement – Tivoli Gardens. This amusement park (second oldest in the world, doncha know) is a must for visitors young and old. There’s something for everyone: exotic gardens, historic buildings and rides to please the thrill seekers among you – and for the hungry, there's a fabulous food court. It's practically our next-door neighbour too, so you're just steps away from recovering in your giant citizenM bed.
For quintessential pictures – Nyhavn. Once a busy commercial port, today Nyhavn canal is lined with buzzing restaurants and colourful houses. Soak up the relaxed atmosphere with a cold beer in summer or visit the Christmas market in winter. The canal is also a starting point for Copenhagen boat tours. Fun literary fact: the writer Hans Christian Andersen used to live at Nyhavn 18!
An art-forward excursion – Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Take a half-hour train ride from Copenhagen to reach this globally renowned mecca of art, design and architecture. The exterior is quite spectacular, blending in with the surrounding natural elements, with an expansive outdoor sculpture garden. Inside, you’ll find a treasure trove of works from international icons.
The citizenM app really should wear a superhero cape. We're talking pre-selecting your room before you arrive, contactless check-in and check-out, room controls via your smartphone, food ordering, chat with hotel ambassadors and more. The stuff of science fiction? Nah, i'ts just our free app, with superpowers. Try it out.
Copenhagen City Hall Square (Radhuspladsen) is a total knockout of a view – so we put our living room on the 7th floor for your enjoyment! What can we say, we're nice like that.
