Travel alerts and house rules

What are the house rules?

Our Glasgow hotel is open under special rules implemented by the Scottish government from 26 December. According to the new rules, our hotel can only welcome you if you are travelling for business, or for an approved exemption purpose. Each guest must present a photo ID to confirm their identity, as well as proof of business travel purpose (letter on company letterhead which includes travel dates) or proof of exemption. You can find more information about this on the official gov.scot website under ‘accommodation’. You will be asked to sign this waiver when you arrive at the hotel, to confirm you agree with these terms of stay.

For your safety, we also have new house rules – please click here to read them. We’ll ask you to agree to them when you arrive at the hotel.

Can I bring family and friends?

Sorry, the current rules in Scotland do not allow family or friends gatherings indoors. You may only gather outdoors while keeping a distance of 2 metres from each other. Please do not invite your family and friends to the hotel.

Can I use cash at the hotel?

We are now a cashless hotel. We are happy to accept all of the following cards: VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Maestro, Discover and JCB. All room nights must be paid on arrival. If you need to add extra nights, we will ask you to pay for them when we modify your stay.

Can I store luggage at the hotel?

Our usual luggage storage service has changed for the health and safety of all staff and guests. Please ask whether it is possible to store your luggage once you arrive at the hotel.

Can I receive mail and packages at the hotel ?

We're sorry, we temporarily do not accept package deliveries, unless the guest is present at the hotel to collect the item in person. For everyone's safety, package storage is temporarily not available.

Do you have parking at the hotel?

citizenM Glasgow hotel does not offer car parking on the hotel grounds.

We do, however, have a discounted rate for you at Cambridge Street Car Park, a 5-minute walk from the hotel:

Overnight: Mon-Sun, 6.00 PM - 8.00 AM, 2.00 GBP

Hand your car parking ticket to an ambassador to validate, then pay at any machine in the car park.

Do you have a shuttle?

at citizenM we do not provide shuttles. But feel free to arrange your own. Most airports provide these services.

How do I check in/check out?

What is the check in time ?

Our check-in starts at 2.00 PM.

Are you arriving before 2.00 PM? You can check-in early at no extra charge if there are rooms available. Early check-in cannot be pre-booked in advance.

 
Until what time is the front desk open?

Our front desk is always open (yes, 24/7!) and an ambassador is always available to help you with anything you need.

Do I need an ID when checking in?

Some countries require you to show ID at the time of check-in. Your booking confirmation email will include this information if needed.

The following ID is accepted: passport, driver's licence, any type of ID valid for travel (for example, national ID cards within the EU).

Your data will only be used for identification, age verification and security purposes.

What is the check out time?

Check out is at 11.00 AM. Do you want to stay in your ultra-comfy bed longer? No problem, you can add a late check-out until 4.00 PM for an extra 29 GBP during booking, at online check-in, or in person at the hotel.

What is citizenM doing to keep me safe?

Should I wear a mask at the hotel ?

In Scotland, face masks must be worn indoors in all public areas at all times, except when eating or drinking.

We want you to feel safe at any citizenM hotel you visit. Our cleaning routine was already world-class – now, it’s beyond amazing. On this page you’ll see what actions we’re taking for your health and safety. You can also tell us when you want your room cleaned. It's easy – download our free app, or use the MoodPad in your room. For all stays 3 nights or less, we won't clean your room unless you ask us to. For all stays of 3+ nights, we'll clean your room every 4th day.

 

What protective equipment is the hotel staff wearing?

All our staff wear face masks at all times, and mandatory gloves when working with food in the pantry and behind the bar.

What can I find at the hotel?

Can I arrange a surprise?

In the wake of COVID-19, our hotels are taking all the necessary precautions to keep our guests and teams safe. This includes no non-essential items in the rooms, as well as minimizing the footprint in our guests rooms both pre-stay and during. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause, however your health is top priority to us.

Do you provide laundry service?

There are no laundry or dry-cleaning facilities at citizenM hotels, but our ambassadors are happy to recommend local cleaners and laundromats if you need one.

Do you have a gym ?

There are no gym facilities at this hotel, but you don't have to give up on fitness (unless you prefer to run a movie marathon in bed, of course). In our movie library, you'll find workout videos made especially for your room. You can also use the free Wi-Fi to stream your favourite workout video. Our city guides have running maps too.

Can I rent a bike ?

We do not have bikes at the hotel, but please ask our ambassadors to recomment a great local bike rental place.

What and when can I eat?

What are the breakfast times and price?

Breakfast is served from 6.30 AM until 11.00 AM. It is possible to have breakfast earlier than 6.30 AM, just let us know in advance to arrange this. The price of the breakfast is 12.50 GBP per person.

Can I see your menu?

We made our menus especially for mobile citizens – ideal when you have places to go and people to see (or no time for a restaurant). Click here to see what’s cooking and pouring at citizenM.

Can I add breakfast to the booking?

Yes, you can add breakfast with one click while you're making your reservation. If you aren't sure yet, simply buy it on the day of arrival or in the morning. The price is the same.

Do you provide breakfast for people with dietary requirements?

Yes, our breakfast buffet has something for everyone! You'll find options for vegan, lactose-free and gluten-free diets. If you have other special requirements, let us know in the comments during the booking, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do you provide lunch and dinner?

Yes, we serve delicious hot meals during lunch and dinner time (12.00 PM - 04.00 AM) at canteenM. Cold food, snacks, drinks and coffee are available 24/7.
