Bringing affordable luxury to one of the world’s busiest cities (and the biggest beds this side of the Pacific).
Showing the hotel industry – once again – how to meet the needs of modern business travellers, citizenM has landed in one of the most up-and-coming business areas of Shanghai: Hongqiao, in the Minhang District. This freshly built 303-room citizenM hotel is our second location in Asia (after Taipei North Gate).
A formal hotel entrance on the ground floor opens onto our famous one-minute check-in kiosks. A spectacular floating dragon lantern by Thai artist Supachai T provides the first amazing photo opportunity, and acknowledges this important symbol of power and fortune in Chinese culture. From here, our guests have a beautiful sweeping view of the living room, collectionM (our one-of-a-kind retail shop with a curated selection of quirky and useful items), canteenM (the 24/7 food and drink kitchen), and a spiral staircase leading to the societyM meeting rooms on the first floor.
Our striking living room features specially curated art pieces which add colour and energy to the whole space, while also giving an international platform to Chinese artists such as Mojo Wang, Bu Hua, Y0un9bug, QianJiu, Ke XiaoQin, and ChenChen.
Above, seven floors housing 303 remarkable bedrooms are now available for booking, with prices starting from 400 CNY per night.
citizenM Shanghai Hongqiao is our 15th hotel in a noteworthy line-up of locations in nine of the world’s major business and leisure destinations, including London, Paris, Amsterdam, and New York. Further Asian developments are in the works, with a brand new location in Kuala Lumpur next on the opening list. Stay tuned for further exciting citizenM news!
