roll out strategy
citizenM, like all true mobile citizens, has wanderlust; a desire to explore new areas and cultures.
The ambition of citizenM is to roll out globally and to offer ‘Affordable Luxury' to all mobile citizens in the world.
european expansion
The first priority of citizenM's roll out strategy is the European expansion.
Currently citizenM operates its first hotel at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The second citizenM hotel will open early 2009 in Amsterdam's city centre. The third hotel is being developed in the city centre of Glasgow and will also open in 2009.
Several additional development sites are currently being acquired in cities such as London, Berlin, Barcelona and Prague, with expected hotel openings in 2010. The citizenM acquisition team is further sourcing and pursuing opportunities in all major European cities; Paris, Milan, Hamburg, Munich, Copenhagen, Edinburgh, Manchester, Madrid, Stockholm, Moscow, Budapest, Warsaw, Zurich, Brussels and many others.
The ambition is to open 20 hotels during the next 5 years, on prime locations in European major cities.
Subsequently citizenM intends to open 5 to 10 hotels annually across Europe, on locations where mobile citizens feel at home.
Generally, citizenM wants to be in cities with over 500,000 inhabitants or in city destinations that are extraordinary in leisure, lifestyle and/or business. In addition, citizenM feels at home at international airports with over 15 million passengers a year.
global expansion
Ultimately, citizenM´s desire is to bring affordable luxury accommodation to travellers in all parts of the world.
Therefore, following the successful launch in Europe, citizenM will be expecting to roll out in other continents, through regional partnerships in specific markets such as India, China, Australia, Asia-Pacific, South-East Asia, the Middle East, North America and Latin America.
