If you missed the press releases, here’s the snappy scoop: as of July 2025, citizenM is part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio of hotels. This is huge news for all you globetrotters – more choice, more destinations, and Marriott Bonvoy® benefits adding up while you sleep. The future looks bright too, with plans to add more citizenM hotels to the current 37. How many more? Time will tell – and you bet we’ll shout about it. In short, you now have way more reasons to get excited about your next trip.

will citizenM change under Marriott?

The short answer is: no and yes! We’ll keep what you love, and make the rest better. citizenM will stay true to our roots: funky spirit, chic design, smooth tech, unscripted service and crusty croissants. All citizenM hotels are open for business as usual, under the same name. We kick it up with these amazing changes: Marriott Bonvoy benefits for all members, booking and reservation management via Marriott.com and the Marriott App, and ambitious growth plans (more citizenM hotels in more cities!). Business buffs call this an acquisition. We call this a win-win for your future adventures.

Use Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy App to browse and book the full portfolio of Marriott Bonvoy hotels – that’s 10,000 global destinations of all types and sizes. Before the end of 2025, you’ll see all citizenM hotels there too.

Why did citizenM join Marriott?

We joined Marriott to give our guests more. Think more flexible booking options and exclusive benefits of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program – all while keeping citizenM’s unique style and spirit.

Will citizenM hotels look or feel different now that Marriott owns the brand?

citizenM will remain citizenM. The contemporary design, tech-forward rooms and friendly service you love will stay the same. What you’ll notice are more ways to book and new benefits through Marriott Bonvoy.

Will citizenM hotel prices go up or service be cut back?

We have no plans to reduce service. Our goal is to keep offering great value. Pricing may adjust over time due to normal market factors, but the citizenM experience won’t be compromised.

What happens to my existing citizenM bookings?

All existing bookings will be honoured. You don’t need to do anything.

Can I still access my booking?

Yes. To see your booking on citizenM.com, log in and visit My Booking. Any open bookings you have will be there. In the future, when citizenM bookings move to Marriott, you will be redirected to Marriott.com to access and manage your bookings – and if you have the Marriott Bonvoy app, you can access and manage them there, too.

Can I make new citizenM bookings?

Absolutely! For now, continue booking through citizenM.com and the citizenM app. Soon, citizenM hotels will be bookable through Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app. When this happens, you’ll be redirected to these Marriott channels to complete your booking.

When can I book citizenM via Marriott.com or the Marriott Bonvoy app?

We’re working now on system integration. Bookings through Marriott channels will be available before the end of 2025 – you’ll be redirected to the Marriott website once it’s live.

What happens to mycitizenM+ and how does it connect with Marriott Bonvoy?

Our mycitizenM+ membership isn’t going anywhere. In fact, now members benefit from Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status – including points, benefits and recognition at thousands of hotels worldwide.
